About Rachael
Hi I’m Rachael, though I am a Photographer by trade, I spend a lot of my time out exploring nature with my two side kicks Flash and Baxter. I love nothing more than seeing dogs have fun and doing what they love best, running with a pack and living their best life,
it’s the least we can do for them.
I have been working as a Photographer, specialising in Animals, for over 30 years; if you are an animal lover yourself you may even have one or two of my books on your shelves (I use to work under my maiden name Rachael Hale, changing to Rachael McKenna after I married in 2009). I have worked alongside animal trainers such as Mark Vette and Marie Manderson and with the knowledge I have gained, I am sure I have earned myself an honorary degree in Animal Psychology. I have learnt to read their behaviours, understand their mannerisms and learnt how to gain their trust; dogs get me and I get them. I have a natural empathy and connection with animals,
I actually think I may have been a dog in a past life.
My husband, daughter and I moved to Dunedin from Wanaka a couple of years ago. I use to have a small dog walking company in Wanaka, and now after spending two years exploring the Dunedin surrounds and finding the best spots for dogs to run free and have epic adventures I am ready to get The Fit Pack up and running, literally.
Flash, Baxter and I can’t wait for you to join our pack.

Rachael's Pack
Flash & Baxter are Rachael's Dogs and are permanently part of The Fit Pack

Flash is an 8 year old Jack Russell, a super cool dog who has always been an old soul, he is the Alpha of the Pack without being nasty, he has a great knack of keeping all the young adolescents in line without being aggressive, the other dogs seem to always respect him, almost worship him due to his nonchalant attitude. Flash is definitely Rachael's right hand man.
Flash loves adventuring, especially if there are rabbits around, and he has a rather odd obsession with rocks.

Baxter, is a 18 month old Foxy, Kelpie, Heading Dog, Whippet Cross, in short he's a Dog! Baxter is the complete opposite of Flash, he's got long legs, he's lean and he's super fast, poor little Flash has to put the turbo boost on to try and keep up when they are after rabbits. Baxter has the sweetest nature and is super submissive, he can be a little bit unsure around other dogs but when he gets to know them he is the perfect playmate. Like Flash, Baxter loves adventures and chasing rabbits, and thankfully he hasn't followed in his little big brothers footsteps and become obsessed with rocks.

Rachael, Flash & Baxter are excited for your pup to join their pack, get in touch today and let your dog join in the fun!
